Move To Amend's Southeast Convergence is going to be here in Gainesville in December.
Day of the Dead celebration is this Friday, Nov 2nd 8pm, at the CMC courtyard.
John announced that his daughter will be having twins!
Our Motion To Dismiss hearing is this Tuesday starting at 9 am. and going until finished which may be 3 hours or as much as all day. Attorneys Geoffrey Mason, Bill Salmon and Jennifer Zadalis will be representing 30 participants. A three judge panel will hear the motion, but may not give their decision until a later date. Lunch will be served by Occupy supporters during the break on the courthouse grounds. Everyone is asked to wear your OG T-shirt, be on time and be respectful of the court rules. Emails have been sent out and phone calls will be made to follow up on reminders.
Picnic in the Park
Plans are still being worked on for an Occupy Gainesville picnic in support of Laura's regular kickball event on an upcoming weekend. The date of Sunday, Nov 11th was selected. Final details are still to be worked out.
Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, is known as the busiest shopping day of the year. In solidarity with Walmart employees in several states who are struggling to unionize, and have threatened to strike on this day, Occupy Gainesville will host a sign-holding demonstration on Archer Road, in front of Butler Plaza, on this day. Please spread the word to other groups and start working on appropriate signs. The event may be followed by a Leftover Thanksgiving Dinner at a location yet to be determined. Ideas please.
It was noted that this is the first GA in a long while where we actually spent no funds.
John F recommends a book titled Abundance.
